Police in Bengaluru have busted an alleged prostitution racket operating from multiple rented houses across the city and arrested four women accused of forcing others into the illegal trade through false job promises
The operation was carried out by the Women Protection Squad of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) following specific intelligence inputs gathered over several days. Officials conducted coordinated raids at three separate locations and rescued four women, including two from other states.
Raids at three city locations
According to police, the racket was being run from houses in Manuvana under Vijayanagar limits, Ramaswamipalya Main Road near Karumariyamma Temple in Banaswadi, and Andrahalli Main Road in Veerabhadreshwara Nagar under Byadarahalli police limits.
Raids were conducted on different days earlier this week, leading to the rescue of the victims and the arrest of the accused women.
Victims allegedly lured with fake job offers
During interrogation, police said the accused allegedly confessed to contacting potential victims with job offers and later forcing them into prostitution for quick financial gain. Customers were reportedly contacted over the phone and meetings arranged at rented premises.
Officials are now examining digital evidence, call records and financial transactions linked to the racket. Further investigation is under way to determine if more persons were involved.
Focus on human trafficking prevention
Police said action against trafficking networks and exploitation rackets will continue, especially those targeting women through fake employment opportunities. Citizens have been urged to verify job offers and immediately report suspicious activities.
