A startup founder’s candid reflection on feeling detached from many aspects of life has sparked a wider conversation online about burnout, mental well-being and changing priorities in adulthood.
Ravi Ojha, founder of Ticketping, shared a personal post on X describing what he called a “weird phase” of life, where activities and interests that once brought him happiness no longer seem exciting.
Founder opens up about emotional disconnect
In his post, Ojha said he found little enthusiasm for things that previously occupied his time and attention, including work, relationships, entertainment, gadgets, books and even personal milestones.
Despite the feeling, he clarified that he did not view it as a crisis. Instead, he noted that he still found joy in spending time with his 18-month-old toddler and learning about random topics unrelated to his work or routine interests.
Ojha also revealed that he had taken a two-week break from work, initially believing he was experiencing burnout.
“Maybe it’s more than burnout”
The entrepreneur admitted that the time away had not fully resolved the feeling and left him questioning whether it was something deeper.
In search of a change of pace, he said he planned to travel and reconnect with old friends, hoping the experience would offer some clarity.
Social media users share experiences
The post quickly gained attention, with many users relating to his experience and offering suggestions.
Some advised him to check vitamin deficiencies such as Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D levels, while others recommended spending more time in nature, taking up new hobbies or focusing on physical activities.
Several parents shared similar experiences, suggesting that becoming responsible for a child often changes personal priorities and alters what people find meaningful or rewarding.
The discussion highlighted a growing awareness around mental health, burnout and the emotional challenges many professionals face while navigating career demands, family responsibilities and personal fulfilment.
