A Bengaluru-based software engineer has inspired many online after rejecting the idea that landing a job at Google was purely due to luck.
Naman Kumar Gautam shared that before receiving an offer from Google, he faced more than 20 rejections from leading companies including Microsoft, Adobe, Meesho and Booking.com.
Rejections before breakthrough
In a video shared on Instagram, Gautam posted screenshots of multiple rejection emails received during his job search journey. Some responses stated he did not meet specific requirements, while others said the role had been filled or his profile was not a match.
Despite repeated setbacks, he continued applying and improving his skills.
Finally, in August 2025, he received an offer letter from Google.
‘Luck is the hustle people don’t see’
The Bengaluru techie opened his video with a line many successful professionals hear: “You work at Google, you are so lucky.”
He responded with a message that struck a chord online: Luck is just what they call the hustle they didn’t see.
The post also showed emotional moments from his journey, highlighting the pressure and disappointment that often remain hidden behind success stories.
