In a significant boost to Bengaluru’s IT sector, the central government announced the expansion of the city’s tech infrastructure with 89 new tech parks, reinforcing its position as the nation’s tech capital. This move comes ahead of the upcoming tech summit scheduled for the end of November, where both the Karnataka state and central governments will focus on building infrastructure, enhancing skills, and attracting investments.
Experts have welcomed the announcement, noting that several of the listed tech parks are already in place, including areas in north Bengaluru, Bellandur, Whitefield, Hebbal, and Outer Ring Road, which are already hubs of IT growth. Other locations for future development include Yeshwanthpur, Banaswadi, CV Raman Nagar, and the Central Business District (CBD), all of which offer further growth opportunities.
The expansion is expected to address Bengaluru’s growing IT demand, with new developments helping to create integrated live-work-play environments. However, experts caution that robust supporting infrastructure will be key to the success of these new tech parks.
