Bengaluru: Light rain and mild weather expected on Tuesday

Bengaluru, Karnataka’s capital, is set to experience light to moderate rainfall on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, with cloudy skies persisting throughout the day. The city woke up at 6:09 AM, and the weather is expected to remain mild and pleasant due to the combination of rain and overcast skies.

The minimum and maximum temperatures are forecasted to range between 20 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius. The sunset is expected at 6:15 PM, signalling the end of a cool and wet day in the city.

Weather department outlook and forecast

The Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) shared a seven-day weather update on X (formerly Twitter), stating:

“Scattered light to moderate rain is likely across the state along with thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds.”

The report highlighted that the ongoing rainfall and thunderstorms may continue across different parts of Karnataka, bringing relief from the otherwise warm September temperatures.

Air quality and humidity

The city’s air quality index (AQI) is expected to remain around 75 throughout the day, indicating moderate air quality. Residents with respiratory conditions are advised to take precautions when stepping outdoors.

Humidity levels are expected to hover around 88 per cent, contributing to a slightly damp atmosphere. The combined effect of rain and high humidity is expected to keep Bengaluru’s temperatures comfortable and mild.

Upcoming weather trends

According to the weather department, the minimum and maximum temperatures over the next few days are likely to remain around 20°C and 26°C.

Meanwhile, coastal regions, including Mangaluru, may experience heavy rainfall and strong winds due to a possible cyclone developing in the area. The intensity of rainfall in Karnataka’s interior regions, including Bengaluru, is expected to gradually decrease from Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Residents and commuters are advised to remain cautious during the light showers and thunderstorms.

Advisory for citizens

Authorities recommend carrying umbrellas or raincoats if stepping out and avoiding low-lying areas prone to waterlogging. The moderate air quality and high humidity also call for caution among children, elderly, and those with respiratory conditions.

With Dussehra festivities underway, the pleasant weather may encourage outdoor gatherings in the morning, while intermittent rain may require contingency plans for evening events.
