On Monday, Bengaluru Traffic Police collected Rs 5.35 lakh in fines for traffic violations during a special drive conducted between 11 am and 4 pm. The majority of the fines, totaling Rs 2.31 lakh, were for no-entry violations, while Rs 1.95 lakh was collected for riding against one-way traffic. Additional fines were imposed for violations such as triple riding, riding on the footpath, and parking on the footpath.

The drive is part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety. Between December 16 and 22, the BTP also conducted a special campaign against drink driving and speeding, registering 769 and 241 cases, respectively. In total, 60,903 vehicles were checked for drunk driving, and Rs 2.41 lakh in fines were collected for speeding violations.
