Bengaluru: Bengaluru’s traffic congestion is usually associated with busy roads, crowded junctions and long office-hour commutes. But a woman in the city has highlighted another side of the problem after sharing a video showing vehicles stuck in traffic inside a residential society.
The video, shared on Instagram by a woman using the handle @her_wandering_footprints, shows a stream of vehicles on the road outside as well as inside a nearby residential complex on a Saturday afternoon.
‘Half an hour just to get out’
In the video, the woman records the view from her room and points towards the traffic outside and within the neighbouring residential society.
She says the video was recorded at around 2 pm on a Saturday, when traffic was still visible on the surrounding roads.
Drawing attention to the vehicles inside the residential complex, she says residents were also facing congestion before they could even reach the main road.
According to her, some people had to wait for around 30 minutes simply to exit the society.
The video has drawn attention to how traffic congestion in Bengaluru can affect not only major arterial roads but also residential communities in areas witnessing rapid development and increasing vehicle movement.

Speaking to HT.com, the woman said the video was recorded in Bengaluru’s Varthur area.
She said the locality has been dealing with traffic congestion and poor road conditions, adding that the situation can extend into residential complexes located in the area.
The video shows cars moving slowly through the internal roads of the society, with vehicles appearing to queue up before reaching the exit.
For residents, such congestion can add to travel time even before they enter the main city road network.
