Cases of reckless riding are on the rise, with 283 cases registered in 2022, increasing to 325 in 2023. Since 2022, a total of 827 cases have led to 683 arrests and fines amounting to over ₹58.2 lakh.

During a recent special drive from December 2 to 12, traffic police registered 76 cases, seized 75 vehicles, and confiscated 45 registration certificates. Of these, 15 were sent to the Transport Department for suspension. Bengaluru Police Commissioner B. “Wheelies and reckless driving are hazardous, posing threats not only to riders but also to others on the road. We urge everyone to prioritize safety and avoid such dangerous acts,” Dayananda stated.

Additionally, police seized 23 driving licences, with 10 forwarded to regional transport offices for suspension. Four individuals caught performing wheelies tested positive for cannabis and were booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
