Bengaluru: The BJP launched a vehement criticism against the ruling Congress in Karnataka, attributing their sweeping success in the recent Lok Sabha elections as a clear denouncement of the Congress’ governance in the state over the past year.

Celebrating their victory with 19 out of 28 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka, BJP state president B Y Vijayendra hailed the results as proof of the BJP’s dominance in South India. At an event honoring the 19 NDA MPs, including 17 from BJP, Vijayendra praised the alliance with JD(S) and credited party leaders and workers for their dedicated efforts during the elections.

“We must continue to combat the misrule of the Congress party over the next four years. The election outcomes reflect the public’s rejection of the Congress due to its governance failures,” Vijayendra asserted.

He highlighted Karnataka’s previous progress under BJP rule and criticized the Congress’ recent administration, attributing a decline in the state’s standing to their one-year tenure.

“While the Congress managed to increase its seat count from one to nine, BJP and JD(S) are leading in over 145 assembly constituencies across the state. Our candidates are even ahead in constituencies held by Congress ministers,” Vijayendra added.

BJP leaders including Union Ministers Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s administration for recent fuel price hikes and allegations of a Rs 94 crore scandal involving the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation.
