Bengaluru: A Blinkit delivery partner in Bengaluru has won praise on social media after going the extra mile to deliver an order placed at the wrong address and politely refusing a cash reward, leaving a customer inspired by his work ethic.

The incident came to light after Mansi Sharma shared her experience in a LinkedIn post titled, “I sent my Blinkit order to the wrong address. The delivery partner taught me something my MBA didn’t.”

According to Sharma, she realised her order had mistakenly been sent to her husband’s friend’s saved address, about three kilometres away, only after receiving a call from the delivery partner saying no one was answering the gate.

Extra effort without complaint

After Sharma apologised for the mistake, she asked whether the delivery partner could instead bring the order to her actual address. He agreed without hesitation, travelled the additional distance, and completed the delivery.

Feeling guilty for the inconvenience, Sharma offered him an extra ₹100 as a token of appreciation. However, the delivery partner politely declined the money.

Instead, he explained that improving customer satisfaction directly impacted his performance ratings.

“Last month my rating was 4.2. If I go the extra mile, it becomes 4.8. That’s my appraisal,” he told Sharma.

Social media praises his professionalism

Reflecting on the incident, Sharma said the delivery partner’s understanding of performance metrics and customer service was a lesson that extended beyond classroom education.

The post has since sparked widespread discussion on LinkedIn, with many users praising the rider’s professionalism, dedication, and customer-first attitude. Others noted that practical experience and well-designed incentives often shape behaviour more effectively than academic qualifications.

The story has resonated with thousands online, with many calling it a reminder that integrity, commitment, and empathy remain invaluable qualities in any profession.
