Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Sports Lovers Association (BSLA), South India’s first sports-focused nonprofit organisation led by women, has announced a fundraising football tournament to support the Rape Free India movement by Team Abhaya. The event, titled “Old is Gold”, will take place on Sunday, 1st December, at the Halanayakanahalli Sports Arena, starting at 8:30 am.
Supporting a Noble Cause
Formed in 2016, BSLA has consistently worked on social causes, particularly focusing on the mental development, education, and health of underprivileged children. This event is another step in their mission to bring positive societal change.
Proceeds from the tournament’s registration fees will directly support the Rape Free India movement, which aims to combat the rising cases of sexual violence in society. Prominent figures including Mrs. India 2022 Esha Big Bhalla, entrepreneur Mrs. Bhuvaneswai Loganathan, and senior advocate Rawley Mudappa, who has been actively working for rape survivors, will grace the event.

Event Details
The tournament will feature a battle between 16 teams in the 40+ age category, celebrating and paying tribute to retired football players who continue to promote the spirit of sports.
- Format: 5-a-side football
- Entry Fee: ₹4,000 per team
- Prizes:
- Winners: ₹15,000 cash prize + trophy
- Runners-up: ₹7,500 cash prize + trophy
- Individual Awards: Star of the Tournament, Best Goalkeeper, Best Scorer, Judges’ Choice (Fair Play Award)
- Surprise prizes to be announced during the event
Kaveri Hospital’s team from Marathahalli will be present to address any potential sports injuries. Additionally, RR Nayak Seva Trust has extended its support for the event.
