A shocking incident has emerged from Bengaluru where a BMTC bus driver allegedly attempted to mow down a young woman following a verbal altercation. Though the event took place on May 23 near the Chinnaswamy Stadium signal, it only gained public attention after dashcam footage from a nearby car recently went viral on social media.
The video shows the bus, heading from Museum Road toward MG Road, coming to a halt as the girl stood in front of it—seemingly trying to prevent its movement. Instead of waiting, the driver aggressively inched the bus forward, nearly hitting her.
Eyewitnesses can be heard gasping in the video as the vehicle brushed past her. The girl reportedly sustained minor injuries but managed to move aside just in time.
The footage has triggered widespread anger online, with many questioning the safety of pedestrians and the accountability of public transport drivers.
BMTC officials are yet to issue a formal statement, but public demand for swift disciplinary action is growing.
This chilling close call serves as yet another reminder of the urgent need for better traffic discipline and stricter driver conduct enforcement in the city.
