Bengaluru: Bengaluru’s Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) faces backlash for continuing road asphalting work during the monsoon season, despite expert advice against it. Five neighborhood roads, including 10th C Main Road, were asphalted, but heavy rains followed shortly after, raising concerns about the durability of the work.
Residents have criticized the timing, calling for a rule against asphalting during the monsoon. They argue that the practice leads to poor-quality roads that deteriorate quickly. In response, the BBMP defended their actions, stating that their focus is on filling potholes during the rainy season to ensure safer driving conditions.
