Bengaluru: A road altercation on the outskirts of the Bengaluru city allegedly turned violent after two men stopped a woman’s car, threatened her and assaulted her husband following a dispute over a vehicle blocking the road. The incident reportedly took place on Friday afternoon near Hesaraghatta Grassland.

According to the complaint, the woman, identified as Rachana, was returning from her farmhouse after delivering food to her husband Bharat when the incident occurred.

While travelling on the route, she allegedly encountered an Ertiga car parked across the road with one of its doors open, obstructing the path.

Dispute escalated after horn was sounded

After Rachana honked for the vehicle to move, one of the men allegedly approached her vehicle from the driver’s side and asked her to lower the window.

The complaint stated that the men then allegedly took photographs of her, causing concern and prompting her to contact her husband and ask him to come to the location.

According to the complaint, after hearing her speak in Kannada, one of the men allegedly threatened her.

The accused later moved their vehicle and she proceeded on her journey.

Car allegedly blocked again

However, the complaint stated that approximately 500 metres later, the same vehicle once again blocked her path.

Two men allegedly stepped out of the vehicle and stood on either side of her car. One of them allegedly threatened to break the window if she did not open it.

Bharat subsequently arrived at the location and asked the accused to delete the photographs taken of his wife.

Husband allegedly assaulted

According to the complaint, Bharat was allegedly pushed to the ground and assaulted during the confrontation.

The complaint further alleged that one of the accused lifted a stone and attempted to attack him on the head.

Shortly afterwards, relatives identified as Prakash and Lakshmikanth arrived at the spot and helped rescue Bharat from the accused.

Rachana also alleged in the complaint that the accused appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and used abusive language during the incident.

The accused were later identified as Mahesh and Govindaraju.

Police are expected to investigate the complaint and take further action based on the allegations made by the couple.
