Bengaluru: A couple was assaulted in a road rage incident at Bettadasanapura near Electronics City in Bengaluru on Friday evening, highlighting ongoing concerns over reckless driving and public safety in the city.
The victims, Soumyadeep Sen and Vaidreemla Pradhan, both from West Bengal, were travelling by car when the incident occurred.
Confrontation escalates into violence
According to reports, the couple were driving from Bettadasanapura towards Electronics City when they noticed a group of youths riding motorcycles dangerously, allegedly performing stunts such as wheelies on the road.
When the couple advised the bikers to slow down, it reportedly angered the group. The youths then chased the vehicle, blocked its path, and turned aggressive.
The attackers allegedly smashed the car windows and physically assaulted the couple, causing injuries.
Incident captured on dashcam
The entire episode was recorded on the car’s dashboard camera, providing crucial evidence of the attack. The footage is expected to assist the police in identifying the accused and establishing the sequence of events.
Victims hospitalised
Following the assault, the injured couple were admitted to a private hospital in Bengaluru, where they are currently undergoing treatment. Their condition is reported to be stable.
