Bengaluru: Actor Darshan Toogadeep has filed a new petition in the High Court contesting a lower court’s decision that denied his request to retrieve food, clothing, and bedding from his home. The petition names several respondents, including the state government’s chief secretary, the superintendent of Parappana Agrahara Central Jail, and the Kamakshipalya police sub-inspector. The case will be heard by Justice M. Nagaprasanna on Wednesday.

Darshan Jr., an actor from Chitradurga and a suspect in the Renukaswamy murder case, has been held at Parappana Agrahara Central Jail since June 22. He has reported health issues, such as indigestion and diarrhea, from the jail’s food. On June 9, he requested permission to have food, bedding, and clothes from home.

After the request was initially adjourned on June 19 for his lawyer’s submission at the Magistrate Court, it was dismissed on June 25 due to Darshan’s ongoing murder charge. Darshan then withdrew his original petition and has filed a new one challenging the denial of his home items.
