As Bengaluru’s fast-paced urban lifestyle leaves little time for home management, professional organising and decluttering services are witnessing a steady surge in demand across the city.

From pandemic habit to growing industry

What began as a pandemic-driven trend has now evolved into a niche but expanding industry. Professionals are turning their organisational skills into full-time careers, catering largely to young couples, IT professionals, and corporate employees.

Shruthi Akshay of “The Tiidy Touch” notes a sharp rise in demand. “We initially handled five to six homes a month, but now we manage three to four homes a week,” she said, highlighting the shift in urban living patterns.

Changing lifestyles drive demand

Experts say the demand stems from changing lifestyles and limited time. Many residents struggle with organising spaces due to lack of habit or awareness.

“People often buy more than they need and don’t know how to manage it,” Shruthi explained, adding that decluttering helps restore both order and mental clarity.

Seasonal trends and wider reach

Yamini Sushma Devi, founder of “Hometastic By Yamini,” observes seasonal fluctuations. “March is usually busy due to housewarming ceremonies, while November sees a slowdown during Karthika maasa,” she said.

Interestingly, demand is no longer limited to Bengaluru, with requests coming in from cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and even Shillong.

Tailored approach to every home

Professional organisers emphasise customised solutions. Amulya Aldi, founder of “Mom Made Home,” explains that each project begins with understanding the client’s routine and lifestyle.

The process includes decluttering unused items, reorganising spaces, and creating systems that clients can maintain independently over time.

A common rule followed is to discard items not used for over a year—though convincing clients, especially older ones, can be challenging.

Services and pricing

Services range from complete home organisation to specific areas like kitchens, wardrobes, and home offices. Costs typically start at around ₹2,500 per hour, with larger projects priced between ₹5,000 and ₹8,000 per day.

Organisers also provide storage solutions to ensure functionality and sustainability.

Beyond aesthetics to wellbeing

For many clients, the benefits go beyond neat spaces. Users report reduced stress, improved efficiency, and better utilisation of living areas.

Residents like Ravindra and Sabya Sachi Shivam shared that initial concerns about privacy faded quickly, with the process ultimately enhancing their quality of life.

A sign of evolving urban living

The rise of decluttering services reflects broader changes in urban lifestyles, where convenience, efficiency, and mental wellbeing are becoming priorities.

As Bengaluru continues to grow, such services are likely to become an integral part of modern city living.
