BENGALURU: Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has publicly demanded that Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy disclose his family’s assets and the sources of his wealth. Speaking at a rally in Ramanagara on Saturday, Shivakumar urged Kumaraswamy to start with his brother Balakrishna Gowda’s assets. “Explain everything. How much wealth he had initially, how much it is now, and how much it has increased,” Shivakumar stated.

The rally, termed ‘Janandolana,’ was organized in response to the BJP-JD(S) foot march to Mysuru. Shivakumar called on Kumaraswamy to provide details about his family’s properties in Bengaluru, including those on Kanakapura Road, Kumbalagodu, Doddagubbi, Chikkagubbi, Nelamangala, and Yelahanka.

Shivakumar also addressed Kumaraswamy’s remarks about Tihar jail, where Kumaraswamy suggested that the military would arrest Shivakumar and send him there. “Even after being imprisoned in Tihar jail, I managed to win 136 MLA seats, while he could only win 19 seats. I have seen Tihar jail and managed to overcome the cases he and his family filed against me,” he remarked.

He accused Kumaraswamy of falsely alleging his involvement in the release of a pen drive related to the sex video scandal involving Prajwal Revanna. Shivakumar also criticized BJP state chief B Y Vijayendra, who labeled him as the “father of corruption,” and questioned the circumstances surrounding former CM Yediyurappa’s resignation.

Shivakumar asserted the stability of the current government, expressing confidence that BJP’s attempts to undermine it would fail. “The strength of Congress will rise again in this country,” he declared, emphasizing the party’s historical contributions to India.
