In a puzzling turn of events on Saturday, the Karnataka Police Department appointed T Kodandarama, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), as the new Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) for Cubbon Park — only to put the transfer on hold minutes later.
The initial order instructed Kodandarama to report for duty immediately, triggering the usual transition process. However, shortly after, a revised directive was issued stating that the transfer had been stayed until further notice.
No official explanation has been given for the abrupt reversal, and the reason for the stay remains unclear.
