In a shocking case of alleged deception, a private company engineer working in Jigani has been accused of cheating multiple women under the pretext of marriage, while reportedly hiding his existing relationships.
The accused, identified as Ravi, is said to be in his early 30s and hails from Chikkanayakanahalli in Tumakuru district. Police have registered a case of cheating and bigamy after a complaint was filed by his first wife.
According to the complaint, Ravi married the woman in January 2024. However, soon after the wedding, his behaviour allegedly became suspicious and troubling.
Wife alleges harassment and dowry demand
The complainant accused Ravi of making inappropriate remarks about other women and forcing her into uncomfortable situations. She also alleged that he demanded dowry and created emotional distress during the marriage.
She further claimed that while she was pregnant, Ravi had already started looking for another bride.
Engagement exposed after truth revealed
In October 2024, Ravi allegedly got engaged to another woman after falsely presenting himself as unmarried. The matter came to light when his first wife informed the second woman’s family.
This reportedly led to a confrontation at Ravi’s residence, where angry family members questioned him over the alleged deception.
Another marriage claim surfaces
Despite the earlier exposure, Ravi allegedly continued the fraud. In December 2025, he is accused of marrying another woman, again without revealing his previous marriages.
When the first wife and her family confronted him regarding the latest development, tensions reportedly escalated into a heated altercation.
Police begin search operation
Following the complaint, Jigani police registered a case and launched efforts to trace Ravi, who is currently absconding.
Authorities are investigating whether more women may have been similarly misled.
