Bengaluru: A violent confrontation erupted in Valmiki Nagar, Bengaluru, on Friday when Tabrez Pasha, a man recently released from prison for murder, attacked his ex-wife’s family and injured a police constable who intervened.

According to police, Pasha—also known as Chor Tabrez—arrived uninvited at the residence of his ex-wife Muskan, who has since remarried. The situation escalated into a physical altercation between Pasha’s family and Muskan’s current husband at her mother’s home.

During the melee, Muskan’s maternal uncle, Mohammed Shafiullah, who was visiting, sustained injuries while attempting to break up the fight.

Head Constable Santhosh, posted at the Chamarajpet police station, was dining at a nearby restaurant when he noticed the commotion and rushed to help. In a shocking turn, Pasha allegedly slashed Santhosh’s wrist with a sharp weapon before fleeing the scene with three of his relatives.

A Hoysala police patrol unit arrived promptly, coordinated ambulance support, and ensured both Santhosh and Shafiullah were rushed to the hospital. Authorities have confirmed that both are now stable and receiving treatment.

Following an intensive search, Pasha and his three accomplices were arrested, and police say a detailed investigation is underway.

This incident comes amid growing concern over repeat offenders and raises fresh questions about post-prison monitoring.
