In a major crackdown on counterfeit goods, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) seized fake watches and spare parts worth around ₹25 lakh and arrested five الأشخاص in connection with the case.

The operation followed a complaint filed by an authorised representative of a reputed brand, alerting authorities about the sale of counterfeit products being passed off as genuine in several parts of the city.

Raids across multiple locations

Police conducted coordinated raids on March 18 and 20 at five shops located in Chickpet, Sultanpalya Main Road, Ganganagar, and Dinnur Main Road. During the operation, officials seized 670 counterfeit watches along with spare parts of 414 watches.

According to police, these items were being sold under the guise of original branded products, misleading customers and violating intellectual property rights.

Probe to trace source

B Dayananda stated that efforts are underway to trace the origin of the counterfeit products. Authorities suspect a larger network involved in manufacturing and distributing fake goods.

He added that further raids and arrests are expected as the investigation progresses, particularly targeting those involved in production and supply chains.

The police have reiterated their commitment to curbing counterfeit trade, warning that strict action will be taken against those involved in such illegal activities.
