A Bengaluru-based entrepreneur has gone viral on social media after candidly sharing that leaving his high-paying corporate job to pursue entrepreneurship was the best decision of his life, even though he is currently facing financial challenges.

Aksht Jain took to X to reflect on his journey one year after quitting a job that paid ₹75 lakh per annum.

“I left my 75LPA job in BLR one year ago to pursue entrepreneurship. Right now I am kinda broke, but I would still say that it was the best thing I could have done,” Jain wrote.

Choosing learning over comfort

The founder explained that entrepreneurship had given him a sense of fulfilment that he rarely experienced in the corporate world. According to him, the freedom from office politics and the opportunity to learn something new every day made the transition worthwhile.

Responding to users online, Jain said the entrepreneurial journey offered constant learning and adventure, even if it meant earning less in the early stages. He also noted that some aspects of corporate work often felt performative, motivating him to pursue a different path.

Social media reacts

Jain’s post attracted widespread attention, with many users describing his decision as both courageous and risky. Some praised him for prioritising personal growth, while others sought advice on whether professionals from non-technical backgrounds could build startups.

In response, Jain highlighted how modern AI-powered tools are making entrepreneurship more accessible. He pointed out that platforms such as Emergent, Lovable and Replit allow users to create functional prototypes without extensive coding expertise.

Building an AI startup

According to his LinkedIn profile, Jain studied at Holy Family Convent School before earning a B.Tech degree from Delhi College of Engineering. After beginning his career as an intern and software developer, he founded Ekly.ai in 2025.

The startup focuses on AI-powered video creation, enabling brands and agencies to generate customised video advertisements using simple text prompts.

His story has resonated with aspiring entrepreneurs, offering a reminder that success often involves uncertainty, risk and the willingness to step outside one’s comfort zone.
