Bengaluru Rural Police have arrested a 19-year-old employee of Foxconn after a foetus was allegedly found inside a toilet at the company’s manufacturing facility near Devanahalli.

The incident reportedly took place on Tuesday night and caused panic among workers at the large industrial campus, which employs over 25,000 people.

Discovery triggers alarm

According to police sources, the foetus was found in the women’s toilet inside the factory premises. Following the discovery, management officials immediately alerted authorities.

Police teams reached the spot, recovered the remains and began an inquiry to identify those involved.

Employee taken into custody

Based on preliminary investigation, officers traced the incident to a 19-year-old woman employee, who was later taken into custody for questioning.

Investigators said the woman is unmarried and was allegedly in a relationship with a neighbour.

Probe under way

Authorities are now examining the medical circumstances, timeline of events and whether any offence has been committed under relevant legal provisions.

Police are also awaiting medical and forensic reports to determine further action.

Officials and legal experts note that incidents involving pregnancy loss, concealment or medical emergencies require careful investigation with due sensitivity, privacy and adherence to law.

There was no official indication of disruption to production at the facility following the incident.
