Bengaluru: As the chairman of the Joint Review Committee on Greater Bengaluru Administration (GBA), Rizwan Arshad, prepares to present his report on the GBA Bill and the establishment of a new governing body, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has scheduled a three-day public consultation.

These sessions will take place at five different venues across the city, ensuring representation from all eight zones. The objective is to gather feedback from citizens and organizations regarding the proposed Greater Bengaluru Authority under the GBA Bill 2024.

An official stated that the bill aims to enhance urban planning, streamline development efforts, and establish an integrated administrative framework. “The focus is on ensuring effective, inclusive, and accountable governance while promoting public participation in decision-making,” the official added.

Additionally, a Legislative Assembly-appointed Joint Review Committee has been set up to examine the matter in detail. This committee will review opinions from stakeholders and conduct meetings in various zones to discuss the formation of the GBA.

Residents, community groups, and welfare associations are encouraged to participate in large numbers, contributing their insights and recommendations for shaping Bengaluru’s governance model.
