Bengaluru Rural: A 53-year-old government school headmaster died by suicide at his house in Manne village of Nelamangala, with a death note reportedly alleging that his wife was having an extra-marital affair.
The deceased, identified as Lakshmi Prasad, reportedly mentioned the alleged relationship in the note and also wished his wife good luck, stating that she was waiting for his death. The incident came to light on Thursday.
Wife denies allegations
Prasad’s wife, Chandrakala, has denied the allegations made in the death note.
She reportedly claimed that her husband’s death was linked to harassment by his family members. She also alleged that Prasad was an alcoholic and did not provide her with money for household expenses.
Chandrakala said she was living in Yeshwanthapur and maintained that she had taken care of her husband when he was hospitalised.
Police investigating circumstances
The allegations made by the deceased and the claims made by his wife have raised questions over the circumstances leading to his death.
