Bengaluru: A 19-year-old BTech student at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) was found dead in his hostel room on Thursday morning, prompting a police investigation.
The deceased has been identified as Rakshan.
Student found unresponsive
According to police, Rakshan was found unresponsive in his hostel room on the IISc campus. Hostel staff and fellow students alerted the police after discovering him.
Officers reached the spot and initiated an investigation.
Handwritten note recovered
Police said a handwritten note was recovered from the room. Its contents are being examined as part of the investigation.
Authorities have not disclosed further details regarding the note or the circumstances surrounding the student’s death.
A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
The institute has not yet issued an official statement on the incident.
