Bengaluru: Karnataka is working towards establishing itself as a global hub for cutting-edge research and emerging technologies, Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has said. The State is focusing on areas including artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, biotechnology, semiconductors and quantum technologies.
Karnataka builds on its research strength
Shivakumar highlighted Karnataka’s strong ecosystem of research institutions, universities, startups and multinational research and development centres.
He said the convergence of advanced technologies would shape the next phase of economic and scientific development, with Karnataka seeking to remain at the forefront of this transformation.
The State has also been strengthening its quantum technology ecosystem, including plans for a Quantum City at Hesaraghatta and research initiatives involving universities and innovation institutions.

The Chief Minister has stressed the importance of connecting educational institutions and laboratories with startups and global markets. Karnataka is also seeking stronger partnerships with international universities, research centres and technology ecosystems.
