The Karnataka Cabinet has greenlit the construction of the Bengaluru Skydeck, which will become South Asia’s tallest structure. This ambitious project, costing ₹500 crores, aims to offer a breathtaking 360-degree view of Bengaluru, enhancing the city’s infrastructure and tourism appeal.

- Height: The Skydeck will soar to approximately 250 meters, making it over three times taller than Delhi’s Qutub Minar, which stands at 73 meters. By comparison, Bengaluru’s tallest building, the CNTC Presidential Tower, reaches about 160 meters.
- Location: The Skydeck will be situated on NICE Road in outer Bengaluru. The initial plan to build it in central Bengaluru faced challenges, including difficulties in acquiring 25 acres of land and objections from the Defense Ministry due to proximity to military installations and civilian safety concerns.
- Features: The Skydeck is expected to include world-class facilities for tourists and will be linked to the metro rail system to ensure easy accessibility. Although specifics about additional facilities like a shopping complex are not yet confirmed, the structure promises to be a major attraction.
Additional Infrastructure:
The Karnataka Cabinet has also approved a significant infrastructure project—a two-way tunnel connecting Hebbal to Silkboard Junction in Bengaluru, with an estimated cost of ₹1,269 crores. This development aims to alleviate traffic congestion and improve connectivity in the city.
