Singer Maqsood M Ali, known as Lucky Ali, has filed a complaint with the Karnataka Lokayukta against Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Officer Rohini Sindhuri, her husband, and her brother-in-law for alleged land-grabbing.

The singer confirmed the development through his X handle on Thursday.

According to Ali, Sindhuri, her husband and her ‘political’ brother-in-law have used State machinery and money to illegally encroach upon land.

This isn’t the first time Ali has raised concerns about the alleged encroachment. In December 2022, he had tagged the Director General of Police, Karnataka in a series of tweets, claiming that his farm, a trust property, was unlawfully taken over by Sudhir Reddy and Madhu Reddy, purportedly associated with the Bangalore land mafia and assisted by Sindhuri.

Rohini Sindhuri is currently involved in another legal dispute with Indian Police Service (IPS) officer D Roopa Moudgil. The conflict began when Moudgil allegedly accused Sindhuri of sharing her private photos with fellow IAS officers in Facebook posts on February 18 last year. This led to a heated exchange between the two officers, resulting in their transfer by the State government.

Subsequently, on February 21, Sindhuri issued a legal notice to Moudgil demanding an unconditional apology and ₹1 crore in damages for defamation. A Bengaluru court hearing the case initiated criminal defamation proceedings against Roopa on March 24. Following this, Moudgil sought to have the case quashed in the High Court, which rejected her plea on August 21. She has since approached the Supreme Court, where the matter is pending.
