Police have registered a case of abetment of suicide against his partner Priyanka following a complaint filed by the victim’s family.
Couple had been living together in Hegganahalli
According to police, Thippeswamy and Priyanka had been in a relationship for the past few months.
The couple had reportedly rented a house on KTG College Road in Hegganahalli around one-and-a-half months ago after introducing themselves as husband and wife to the landlord.
Police said Priyanka is originally from Davanagere and is a mother of two children.
Investigators revealed that she had allegedly separated from her husband before beginning her relationship with Thippeswamy.
Family alleges mental harassment
According to the complaint filed by Thippeswamy’s brother, C Shiva Murthy, the victim frequently spoke about the mental stress and harassment he allegedly faced in the relationship.
The complaint stated that Priyanka had reportedly told him to end the relationship if he wished to do so.
Police said Thippeswamy was found hanging from a ceiling fan inside the rented house between 5.30 pm and 9.40 pm on Tuesday.
Family members alleged that the victim had become emotionally distressed in recent weeks.
Relationship reportedly began through Instagram
Police investigations revealed that Thippeswamy and Priyanka first met through Instagram before eventually working together at the same garment factory in Bengaluru.
Thippeswamy had reportedly been living in Bengaluru for nearly eight years.
According to police, the victim’s family came to know about Priyanka after she allegedly started answering his phone calls and blocking numbers belonging to his family members.
The family later approached police following his death.
Police register abetment of suicide case
Rajagopal Nagar Police Station has registered a case of abetment of suicide against Priyanka and initiated further investigation.
Police are currently examining the circumstances leading to the incident and recording statements from family members and neighbours.
