Bengaluru: A man was safely rescued after allegedly attempting to end his life by climbing onto the rooftop of a school building in Bengaluru, following a swift operation by police and Fire and Emergency Services personnel.
Emergency teams launch rescue operation
According to police, the man climbed onto the rooftop of a school, prompting authorities to launch an immediate rescue operation after receiving information about the incident through the Namma 112 emergency helpline. Fire and Emergency Services personnel, along with Bengaluru Police, reached the spot and persuaded him to come down safely.
The coordinated efforts of the emergency responders ensured that the man was rescued without any injuries.
Police suspect family issues
Preliminary inquiries indicate that the man was allegedly under emotional distress due to family-related issues. After being brought down safely, he was taken into police custody for further inquiry and counselling.
Police said appropriate action has been initiated under the provisions of the Karnataka Police Act. Further investigation is underway.
Authorities have urged people facing emotional or psychological distress to seek support from family members, friends or qualified mental health professionals, stressing that timely intervention can help prevent such incidents.
