Bengaluru:  A violent altercation at a bar on Bazaar Street, Neelasandra, ended with two men being stabbed after refusing to give a cigarette to another patron.

Incident Details:

  • Date & Time: Monday at 8 PM
  • Location: Yashaswi Bar and Restaurant
  • Victims: Ramesh Prabhu, 36, a travel consultant, and his friend Raja, both from Viveknagar
  • Perpetrator: A man in his 30s, who initially asked for a cigarette and later attacked the victims with a knife

Sequence of Events:

  1. Initial Conflict: The attacker approached Prabhu and Raja inside the bar, requesting the cigarette they were smoking. Despite Raja offering to buy him a new one, the attacker insisted on theirs.
  2. Escalation: After exchanging insults and physical altercations, the attacker left the bar but waited outside.
  3. Attack: As Prabhu and Raja exited the bar, the attacker abused them, pulled out a knife, and stabbed Raja in the abdomen. Raja managed to escape, but Prabhu was also stabbed by the attacker before he fled.

Aftermath:

  • Injuries: Both victims received treatment at a nearby hospital and are reportedly out of danger.
  • Police Response: Authorities have significant leads on the attacker and expect to make an arrest soon.
