A tragic accident unfolded in Bengaluru’s Kengeri area, where a man fatally injured in a hit-and-run incident was found dead on the footpath nearly 16 hours later.
The incident occurred on November 26, around 4 pm, near Hoysala Circle. Shivayogi L, aged 50-52, was crossing the road when a reckless two-wheeler struck him. He suffered injuries to his head, arms, and torso. Passersby, including Ravi M, a nearby restaurant worker, assisted by moving Shivayogi to the roadside and offering him water. Though an ambulance was called, Shivayogi declined medical assistance, appearing to recover.
He walked 200 meters before resting on a footpath, where he was later found lifeless the next morning around 8 am. Ravi, upon recognizing him as the accident victim, confirmed his identity through ID documents in his wallet.
Shivayogi, a security guard by profession, succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident. The rider responsible fled the scene, prompting the police to file a hit-and-run case. Efforts are ongoing to locate the perpetrator and inform the victim’s family.
This tragic incident highlights the importance of seeking immediate medical attention, even if injuries seem minor, and ensuring road safety for pedestrians.
