Early Thursday morning, a massive fire broke out at the Sriram Wood Factory near Yadavanahalli, on the Bengaluru-Hosur highway, completely engulfing the premises. The fire, believed to have started accidentally around 3:30 AM, spread rapidly, consuming large timber stacks and other materials across the factory’s extensive grounds. The flames even extended to the Ashirwad Food Company and impacted nearby areas, including the Ashirwad Pipe Company.

Thick black smoke filled the sky, causing alarm among locals and commuters, who experienced reduced visibility and traffic disruptions on the highway. At least ten fire engines and a local water tanker were deployed to combat the intense blaze. Firefighters worked tirelessly to control the flames, though the extensive fire made containment challenging.

The Sriram Wood Factory, owned by businessman Harshad Patel, covers several acres, and losses are estimated at over five crores. Local authorities have launched a rescue operation to protect workers and residents in the area. While no casualties have been reported, fire teams are expected to stay on-site for hours to ensure the flames are fully extinguished.
