A software engineer’s video showing a “day in the life” at Microsoft’s Paris office has gone viral after offering a humorous and relatable glimpse into work culture in Europe.
The video was shared on Instagram by Rahul Kaushik, who documented his experience visiting the company’s office in Paris while joking about language struggles, vegetarian food and work-life balance.
‘Good I wasn’t born in France’
The clip begins with Kaushik roaming around Paris and joking that it was probably good he was not born in France because he does not know the French language.
However, he quickly admitted that the beauty of the city made him consider taking an internal transfer there.
As he entered the Microsoft Paris office, Kaushik headed to the cafeteria but humorously said he immediately reconsidered the idea after finding very limited vegetarian food options apart from croissants and biscuits.
Eiffel Tower view grabs attention
The video also showcased the interiors of the office, including conference rooms, greenery-filled spaces and workstations with scenic city views.
While showing the view from his desk, Kaushik jokingly referred to a “big electric pole” outside the window before revealing that it was actually the Eiffel Tower.
The light-hearted humour and office atmosphere quickly attracted attention online.
Work-life balance surprises viewers
One part of the video that especially resonated with viewers was Kaushik’s observation about work culture in Europe.
He pointed out that by around 4.30 pm, many employees had already left the office after shutting down their laptops. He also mentioned that employees are generally not expected to attend work calls or messages after office hours.
Ending the video on a thoughtful note, Kaushik said work should remain only one part of life and not life itself.
The viral clip has sparked discussions online about workplace culture, employee well-being and work-life balance in global companies.#Microsoft #Paris #WorkLifeBalance #SoftwareEngineer #ViralVideo #newskarnataka
