Bengaluru: From the glamour of the Miss Universe India stage to the everyday routine of a technology professional, Umanga Kumawat has made a striking return to her regular work life in Bengaluru.

The engineer, who represented Madhya Pradesh and secured a place in the top 20 of Miss Universe India 2026, recently returned to Google’s Bengaluru office after taking part in the national pageant. She shared a glimpse of her first day back at work through a one-minute Instagram Reel on September 14.

Her return has attracted attention because of the contrast between the world of beauty pageants and her professional career in the technology sector.

From pageant stage to Google campus

Umanga competed in Miss Universe India 2026 in August, representing Madhya Pradesh and making it to the top 20. Just weeks later, she swapped pageant preparations and the ramp for her laptop and a regular day at the Google campus in Bengaluru.

In her social media video, she documented her routine from the beginning of the day. Her morning started around 9.30 am as she decided what to wear before heading to work.

She chose a black top paired with bright red trousers, picked up her laptop sleeve, backpack and earbuds, and headed to the Google office.

The video offered followers a glimpse of a side of her life that is quite different from the pageant stage.

While beauty pageants often involve elaborate styling, rehearsals, photoshoots and public appearances, Umanga’s Bengaluru routine centred on her professional life.
