Bengaluru: More parents have come forward in the alleged Bengaluru daycare abuse case, claiming their young children exhibited unusual behavioural changes after attending the childcare facility located inside the Capgemini campus in Brookefield.
The fresh complaints have intensified concerns over the treatment of toddlers at the centre, where police are investigating allegations of physical and emotional abuse by caregivers.
Parents notice alarming behavioural changes
One family told police that their two-and-a-half-year-old daughter developed an intense fear of bathrooms after attending the daycare. According to the parents, the child would cry, panic and try to run away whenever taken near a bathroom.
The family now believes the behaviour may be linked to the alleged abuse captured in videos that surfaced during the investigation.
Investigators said the footage allegedly shows caregivers shouting at children and, in one instance, locking a toddler inside a bathroom for crying.
Police continue investigation
Police have arrested a 55-year-old nanny in connection with the case and are questioning other caregivers employed at the facility.
Officials said that while some allegations circulating on social media—including claims that children were locked inside washing machines or sprayed with toilet jets—are still being verified, the evidence examined so far points to harsh treatment of toddlers.
The investigation is continuing, and authorities have said appropriate legal action will be taken based on the findings.
Capgemini extends support to families
The incident has triggered widespread concern among parents and child rights groups, prompting calls for stricter monitoring of daycare centres operating within corporate campuses.
Capgemini has temporarily closed the Brookefield daycare facility and reiterated that it is cooperating fully with the investigation. The company has also said it is extending counselling services, helpline support and flexible work arrangements to affected families while the inquiry continues.
Authorities have urged anyone with relevant information or concerns related to the case to approach the investigating officers.
