The offers in question are:
- INR 40-43 lakh per annum at an Indian startup in Bengaluru, which would require relocating.
- INR 35-37 lakh per annum plus equity at a foreign startup with a fully remote work model.
The consultant highlighted the significant personal and financial costs of relocating to Bengaluru, especially since his wife is employed in Mumbai. He sought opinions on whether the higher salary in Bengaluru would outweigh the benefits of staying remote and maintaining family proximity.
Responses from Grapevine users largely favored the remote work option. Many advised against relocating to Bengaluru due to its high living costs, severe traffic congestion, and water shortages.
