The Abhaya Bravery Awards honour individuals across India who demonstrate courage, integrity, and selfless service in addressing social issues, particularly those related to justice, dignity, and public welfare.

Recognition for grassroots social reform

The Samaj Seva Ratna citation acknowledges Munesha M’s long-standing work in social activism, his vocal opposition to corruption, and his efforts to represent the concerns of underprivileged and marginalised sections of society. His journey—from a modest rural background to active engagement in public life—has been marked by persistence, personal sacrifice, and a strong belief in grassroots change.

Organisers noted that the recognition is meant to highlight individuals who work consistently at the ground level, often without public visibility, but whose efforts create tangible impact within communities.

Abhaya Bravery Award: purpose and vision

Team Abhaya describes itself as an apolitical collective committed to advocating a safer and more just society. Through the Abhaya Bravery Awards, the initiative seeks to honour citizens who stand against injustice and work towards social reform without expectation of personal gain.

Season 2 of the awards continues this mission by recognising individuals from diverse backgrounds whose actions inspire accountability, courage, and civic responsibility.

The organisers stated that the 2026 edition aims to further strengthen public awareness about ethical leadership, social responsibility, and the importance of standing up against systemic wrongs.
