In a move aimed at strengthening public transport connectivity in the city’s rapidly growing outskirts, the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) will introduce a new non-AC metro feeder bus service from June 22.
The new route, designated MF-22G, will operate between Dommasandra Bus Station and Bommasandra Bus Station, providing commuters with improved access to residential, commercial and transit hubs along the corridor.
Route to cover key localities
According to BMTC, the feeder service will run via Muttanallur Cross, Narayanaghatta, Ramasagara and Chandapura, connecting several developing neighbourhoods and helping passengers access metro and bus services more conveniently.
Three buses have been assigned to the route to ensure regular service throughout the day.
The initiative is expected to benefit daily commuters, students and office-goers travelling between the eastern and southern parts of Bengaluru, where demand for reliable public transport has grown significantly in recent years.
Timings announced
The first bus from Dommasandra Bus Station will depart at 7.10 am, while the last service will leave at 5 pm.
From Bommasandra Bus Station, the first bus is scheduled to start at 8.05 am and the final trip will depart at 6 pm.
BMTC officials said the route has been introduced as part of efforts to improve last-mile connectivity and encourage greater use of public transport.
Boost to public transport network
The addition of the new feeder service comes as Bengaluru continues to expand its metro and bus infrastructure to meet the mobility needs of a growing population. Improved feeder connectivity is expected to make public transport more accessible and reduce dependence on private vehicles.
Commuters residing in Dommasandra, Chandapura and surrounding areas are expected to benefit from faster and more convenient travel options through the new service.
