Bengaluru: The Central Government has announced plans to establish a cutting-edge testing facility for electric vehicle (EV) batteries and chargers at the RRSL Jakkuru campus in Bengaluru, Karnataka. This strategic initiative, led by the National Test House (NTH) under the Department of Consumer Affairs, aims to bolster the testing capabilities in South India, particularly in the burgeoning EV sector.
Union Minister Pralhad Venkatesh Joshi will inaugurate the facility, which will support the EV industry by offering comprehensive testing services, including electrical safety, EMC/EMF compliance, durability, and climate resistance tests. This move aligns with India’s broader goals of promoting sustainable energy and innovation in automotive technology, while ensuring that EV products meet stringent quality standards before reaching the market.
