Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company, has announced the signing of a new Gateway hotel in Yeshwantpur, further expanding its presence in Bengaluru’s rapidly growing hospitality market.
The project will be developed as a brownfield property and is expected to strengthen hospitality offerings in North Bengaluru, one of the city’s emerging commercial hubs.
283-room hotel planned in North Bengaluru
The upcoming Gateway Yeshwantpur, Bengaluru, will feature 283 rooms designed to cater to both business and leisure travellers. The hotel will offer an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, a bar and lounge, and a pool bar.
Commenting on the development, Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development, IHCL, said Bengaluru remains one of India’s strongest lodging markets, with Yeshwantpur emerging as a key commercial micro-market.
She noted that the project, being developed in partnership with Naveen Hotels, is expected to be completed within 24 months and marks the third collaboration between IHCL and entrepreneur Satish Shetty.
Focus on events and corporate travel
The hotel will include nearly 13,000 square feet of event and meeting space, featuring two large pillarless banquet halls and multiple meeting rooms.
The facilities are expected to cater to conferences, corporate events, weddings and social gatherings. Guests will also have access to a fitness centre and swimming pool.
Satish Shetty, Chairman of Naveen Hotels, said the project would contribute significantly to the area’s growing hospitality ecosystem and support increasing demand for quality accommodation.
Bengaluru remains a key hospitality market
Yeshwantpur has witnessed steady growth in recent years due to improved infrastructure, strong connectivity and rising commercial activity. The area continues to attract investments across real estate, retail and hospitality sectors.
Known as India’s technology capital, Bengaluru remains a major destination for business travel, corporate events and domestic tourism, driving demand for premium hospitality infrastructure.
With the latest signing, IHCL’s portfolio in Bengaluru will expand to 21 hotels, including 12 properties currently under development. The move forms part of the company’s strategy to strengthen its presence in key metropolitan and high-growth urban markets across the country.
