A Nigerian woman was arrested after ingesting narcotic drugs valued at Rs 10 crore, according to the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI). Acting on specific intelligence inputs, DRI personnel intercepted the woman at Kempegowda International Airport on July 26. The passenger, arriving from Dubai, admitted to ingesting contraband in capsule form during a sustained interrogation.

The woman was presented before a judge handling Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) cases to obtain permission for a medical examination. This led to the extraction of 57 capsules from her stomach, which tested positive for cocaine. The total weight of the capsules was approximately one kilogram, and their street value is estimated at Rs 10 crore. The woman has since been arrested, and further investigation is ongoing.

In a related incident, DRI officials arrested an Indian passenger at the same airport on July 18 for possessing hydroponic weed (cannabis). The passenger was found with 3.6 kg of cannabis, valued at Rs 3.6 crore in the illicit market. Both arrests highlight the ongoing efforts by DRI to curb drug smuggling and ensure the safety and security of the region.
