Bengaluru: Karnataka reported a clean conduct of the second Pre-University Course (II PUC) examinations, with no malpractice cases recorded across subjects, according to the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board.
Officials attributed the smooth and fair conduct of the exams to measures such as web streaming of examination centres and the implementation of a three-examination system.
Tech-driven monitoring curbs malpractice
An official from the board said that the introduction of web streaming has significantly reduced instances of cheating.
“Before introducing web streaming, there used to be malpractice cases. Now, students are cautiously writing their exams without malpractices,” the official noted.
The enhanced surveillance system has ensured stricter monitoring at exam centres, contributing to greater transparency and discipline during examinations.
SSLC exams commence across state
Meanwhile, the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations have commenced from Wednesday across Karnataka.
The Legislative Council extended its best wishes to students appearing for the exams after approving a proposal presented by School Education and Literacy Minister Madhu Bangarappa.
Deputy Chairman M K Pranesh, who presided over the session, conveyed the message on behalf of all members of the House.
Over 8.6 lakh students appear
A total of 8,65,988 students are appearing for SSLC Examination-1 this year, highlighting the scale of the statewide exercise.
The exams are being conducted at 2,870 centres across Karnataka, with authorities putting in place necessary arrangements to ensure smooth conduct.
Focus on fair and transparent exams
The absence of malpractice cases in the II PUC exams is being seen as a positive outcome of recent reforms in the examination system.
With large-scale participation in SSLC exams, the education department aims to maintain similar standards of fairness and efficiency through strict monitoring and administrative measures.
Conclusion
Karnataka’s examination authorities have underscored their commitment to conducting fair and transparent exams through technology-driven oversight. As SSLC exams begin, the focus remains on ensuring a smooth and stress-free experience for lakhs of students across the state.
