The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has announced a one-day disruption in water supply across several parts of the city due to ongoing infrastructure works.
According to BWSSB, EMF (Electromagnetic Flow) meters are being installed near the Gottigere reservoir as part of the Cauvery 5th Stage water supply project. The initiative aims to enhance monitoring accuracy and improve overall distribution efficiency.
Supply disruption from 6 am to 6 am
Water supply will be affected from 6 am on February 26 until 6 am on February 27. During this 24-hour period, residents in the listed areas may face reduced pressure or complete interruption.
BWSSB Chairman V Ram Prasath Manohar has urged citizens to store adequate water in advance and use it cautiously during the disruption.
Areas likely to be affected
The following areas are expected to face water supply interruptions:
Whitefield, Nallurahalli, Siddapura, Nagondanahalli, Ramagondanahalli, Channasandra, Hoodi, Garudacharpalya, Doddanekundi, Munekolala, Kumaraswamy Layout, Poornaprajna Layout, Banashankari, Kollahalli, Anjanapura, Gottigere, Begur, Kodichikkanahalli, Kudlu, Kadugodi and surrounding localities.
Residents are requested to cooperate with authorities, as the work forms part of a major upgrade under the Cauvery 5th Stage project, intended to strengthen Bangalore’s long-term water supply network.
