Heartbreaking scenes unfolded at several NEET (UG) re-examination centres across Telangana as students were denied entry for arriving just a few minutes after the stipulated reporting time, leaving parents distraught and pleading with officials for leniency.

In one incident reported from Keesara in Medchal district, a father was seen begging security personnel and police officers to allow his daughter to take the examination after she reportedly arrived just two minutes late. According to the family, the delay occurred after Google Maps directed them along an incorrect route, causing them to reach the centre beyond the permitted time.

Witnesses said the father fell at the feet of police personnel in a desperate attempt to secure entry for his daughter. However, officials refused to make an exception, citing examination regulations.

A similar scene played out in Jagtial district, where a mother reportedly fell at the feet of security guards, pleading for her daughter to be allowed into the examination hall. Despite her repeated requests, officials adhered to the prescribed guidelines and denied entry.

At the examination centre located at JNTU in KPHB, Hyderabad, two female NEET aspirants were also turned away after arriving a few minutes late. The students reportedly appealed to the authorities, but their requests were not accepted.

The incidents have sparked widespread discussion on social media, with many questioning whether greater flexibility could have been exercised in cases involving marginal delays of one or two minutes.

The re-examination was conducted following concerns surrounding the earlier NEET examination process. Several users online expressed frustration, arguing that while strict rules were being enforced for reporting times, stronger measures should have been taken earlier to prevent irregularities that led to the re-test.

The emotional scenes highlighted the immense pressure faced by students and families, for whom the examination represents a crucial step towards pursuing a medical career.
