A commercial airline pilot has been booked by police in Bengaluru after a cabin crew member lodged a complaint alleging sexual assault at a city hotel where the airline staff had been staying.
According to police officials, the incident reportedly occurred during a layover. The complainant, a member of the cabin crew, approached the local police station on Monday morning and submitted a formal complaint. Following this, a case was registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
Airline extends support
The airline concerned has reportedly been informed of the development. According to officials familiar with the matter, the carrier has assured full cooperation with the investigation and internal procedures have also been initiated in line with company policy.
Investigation underway
Police said that they are verifying the sequence of events, reviewing CCTV footage from the hotel, and recording statements from staff and other crew members present during the layover. No arrests have been made so far, and the investigation is ongoing.
Officials added that further details will be released only after preliminary inquiry steps are completed.
