Kanakapura: An accused who was absconding in the case of the hand-cutting of a Dalit youth in Malagalu village has been arrested by the police. The arrested individual, identified as Rahul (25), was taken into custody and produced before a judge for further legal proceedings. He is currently being interrogated by authorities.
Rahul had reportedly taken refuge in Mandya after going into hiding following the incident. However, the police received information regarding his whereabouts, leading to an operation that resulted in his arrest.
The violent incident occurred 15 days ago when assailants armed with weapons entered a house and severed the hand of a young man named Anish. Since then, the police have been actively pursuing their investigation and have already arrested six other individuals allegedly involved in the attack.
