Bengaluru: A court granted the Special Investigation Team (SIT) the custody of JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, who is accused in a serial sex abuse case in Hassan, until June 6, according to various reports.
The 42nd Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) granted custody after hearing arguments from both the prosecution and defense. Prajwal Revanna was brought before the court on Friday afternoon following his arrest earlier in the day.
SIT officials apprehended Prajwal at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru at 12:53 am on Friday, upon his return from Munich, Germany, where he had been evading arrest for over a month. The MP faces allegations of sexual harassment and rape in three separate cases, involving two women, including a former maid in her sixties.
After spending the night in a holding cell at the SIT office at the CID Headquarters in Bengaluru, Prajwal was taken to Bowring Hospital in Shivaji Nagar for a medical examination. He was subsequently presented before the magistrate.
